Wendy Moore’s favourite rooms from Season 15 of Selling Houses Australia

Selling Houses Australia’s best renovation reveals

Here at The Interiors Edit, we LOVE a good before and after! And luckily we have access to the queen of B&As right here - our founder Wendy Moore, who is also the interior design on Selling Houses Australia. Handy! We asked Wendy to share some of her favourite moments from a simply epic season of the show.

Favourite room 1: Sunshine West living room: “The Art Deco brief meant bringing glamour, pattern and fun references to this home’s design, like glamourous feature walls and bolts of pattern and colour,” explains Wendy. “But first we had to actually finish the house!” The living room was transformed by a smart palette of navy blue with gold accents, and new corner set window dressed in Duette blinds from Luxaflex. “My favourite trick was adding a new Jetmaster fireplace. It’s just so beautiful and it really makes the room sing!” adds Wendy.

“I chose a fireplace from Jetmaster with a classic silhouette and mantle to utilise for display, painted in Wattyl Surfmist” ~ interiors expert Wendy Moore

Room 2: Kitchen in Redland Bay This beloved home of Carol and Andrew was built it in the early 2000s, but needed a huge refresh and a rethink of the floorplan to make it work! “The kitchen had great bones,” says Wendy. “So I was able to update it with a simple respray and updating cabinetry and appliances.” The new cabinetry was sourced from Kaboodle, and updated appliances with new models from Euromaid.

Room 3: Master bedroom in Terrigal Let’s head to the NSW central coast for Wendy’s next favourite room – now a soothing and serene space. “I really try to bring a different vibe to every home, and for this one, the minute I saw it I knew it was going to be a really relaxed Boho-style home, with lots of natural texture and layers and just that cool coastal vibe,” says Wendy. “I think we delivered that.” A rattan bedhead was essential; try Black Mango for one like this.  The walls are painted in soothing Wattyl paint.

Room 4: Greystanes living room Greystanes just had to be on the list! “I just loved this home, in its orginal condition as well as after the update,” says Wendy with a grin. Now a fun, retro vibing home, Wendy transformed a completely original and untouched abode trapped in the 1970s into a stunning haven of style by heroing the era in a groovy, modern way. This extended into the living room; “It celebrates the warming yellow tones used elsewhere in the home in a more subtle way,” says Wendy. To recreate this vibe with furniture, be sure to incorporate a piece of furniture with a teak finish, a must-have of the era.

Room 5: Clermont master bedroom “I needed a lie down after this reno, which we kicked off the season with,” says Wendy of the Clermont renovation. “We had a tiny budget as the house was small and the owners didn’t want to spend another cent! But they had to, and we made it work.” The star of this room is the Denmark gas lift bed frame from Snooze, with lots of storage underneath, and the rattan shade is from The Lighting Superstore.
